Before this rant, a disclaimer: Though I have studied US History for a number of years and have a working knowledge of the way the government is run I am in no way an expert in politics and government. -- I hereby decree that people stop complaining about the government so much. Maybe I am too complacent but I like paved roads, free libraries, and public schools. I enjoy, on a daily basis, city, state, and national parks. All of these things cost money to maintain, and so I gladly pay my taxes. There are other people that love these resources as much as I do but they don't want to pay for them. Instead they would rather the government lower taxes and then take money away from something like protecting our rights and liberties and use them to clean up litter in the park. Did I mention that these same people hate to walk ten steps off the path to the garbage can? I am not saying that we should bow down to all of the governments wishes, nor am I saying that everything is perfect in our country, but maybe we should do some introspection before we blame all our problems on a government that we elected (as a group) in the first place. As I said before, I am not an expert about any of this stuff, but sometimes people bug me.
