Restart/Restart Shutdown/Shutdown Log Out/Log Out - So many choices!

I hereby decree that while I like the MacBook Pro I have for work, and I generally love OS X, there are a few things that are REALLY weird about it. The image above only being a small sample of the problems I seem to have regularly. So, for as much as people talk about how much they love their Apple products, the same seem to be able to tolerate a lot of grief. "I love my iPhone," they say, "even when I have to wipe it clean and start over every two weeks." That is more or less the behavior I am seeing on this MacBook Pro. Been using it for about a month and now it needs to be wiped and started over. Boo.
