Lately I have been doing a wide variety of work on the web. I have found some great tools, which serve unique purposes, that have helped me get my work done. Following, a list and some description of said tools:
Emurse.com
Emurse is an online resume management tool. Recently I have been starting to get my name out in to the real world. I am doing this a little early, but my upcoming graduation has me nervous and excited all at once. To help manage my resume and make it readily available for potential employees, I have been using Emurse regularly.
My favorite feature has to be the ability to download a resume in different formats. I have recently been on the road, and so the ability to load up a web browser, download a current version of my resume (or make some quick edits then download) and then continue business as usual has been tremendously valuable.
I haven't done it yet, but I am considering upgrading to a plus account. Emurse.com, best online resume editor.
RegExr
RexExr is a handy web app made by Flash Master Grant Skinner. Regular Expression is something that I have always had a hard time grasping. This regex tool helps me to understand regex a little better as well as make sure that my patterns will match what it is I am actually trying to accomplish.
If you are looking for an easy to use, web based, and just plain awesome regular expression tool, use www.regexr.com.
TinyAsk Short URLs
So, full disclosure, this is something I made and that I don't intend to open to the public for a while. There are many URL shortening services out there, but I have always been dissatisfied with their lack of clarity. Sure, the purpose is to make the URL shorter, but http://tinyurl.com/54xozd could be anything. My version makes the same link look something like this: http://tinyask.com/u/youtube/1. Not as short, but you know right away that the link points to YouTube. Much more user friendly in my own opinion.
While it isn't open to the public, I am looking for some help with testing to I can get a sense of scale and functionality. If you are interested in helping, contact me.
I enjoy these tools and they have helped me much in the last few weeks. I hope they can help you as well.
