I hereby decree

I admire the work of Jeff Croft and I hope to be as good as he is, some day, at design and development. That said, it looks like we both decided to redesign/recode our blogs and I can't say that I enjoy his new design. It isn't the layout that bothers me and, despite the title and image of this post, I actually like brown, just not dark brown on black.

Basically, it looks like the brown Zune exploded in to his CSS.

Now, I am sure that if he were to look at this site he would have all sorts of nasty stuff to say about it, and that is fine with me. But the fact that I have a hard time reading his site on a nice, big, bright LCD screen in optimal lighting conditions makes me wonder. Just to be sure, I opened his site in Safari (which he says is the optimal browser for the site, currently) and still no luck. Others with more design sense than myself are saying it is beautiful. I am not convinced.

If Jeff Croft likes it, though, then who am I to judge. He can do whatever he wants. I applaud him for it. But, brown? On Black? Ouch.
