Thinking more about my fascination of widgets I have come up with a theory. Widgets are plug and play. What I mean is that you can easily add dynamic, interactive content to your site with a widget. Take for example the Netscape News Scroller. It is very simple to add this widget to your website or blog, once you do you have instant access to the top stories on the Netscape home page. This gives value to the user as well as the website owner. They can easily display dynamic, top-end content without having to very much work at all. Anyway, there is more I could say about this, but I will have to think it through more thoroughly.
