I hereby decree

by David LeMieux

I used to have an English class in which during the first five to ten minutes of class we would have "creative writing time." This is not really enough time, in my opinion, to flesh out much of a full story. Maybe what I should have done is keep adding to the same work over a long period but in my zeal to finish things when the teacher would give the minute warning I would inevitably add the following phrase: "And then suddenly and without warning the earth exploded. The end." I happen to know that I am not the only person to do this and so in keeping with tradition I now give you my prediction for the ending of the upcoming Harry Potter book:

Drained almost of all his very essence, Harry looked deeply in to Voldemort's dark eyes and realized his destiny. Harry's epiphany lead him to discover the only way to end the return of the dark lord. Unfortunately, right at that exact moment, the Earth imploded and the saga of Harry Potter and his battle against possibly one of the most evil men of all time suddenly became irrelevant. The End.
